The demand for sightseeing trips in Russia continues to grow, while tourists are increasingly abandoning mass routes in favor of individual programs and independent formats. This was announced on February 22 by Maria Cherepanova, General Director of the Paradise Tour operator.

"Mass excursions and classic routes are gradually losing ground. On the one hand, they are being squeezed by individual tours for small groups (5-6 people)," she said in an interview "Газете.Ru ".

According to her, families and friends tend to arrange trips based on their own rhythm and interests. Individual programs for older tourists, which combine cultural events, excursions and leisure, are especially in demand. Despite the higher cost, interest in such formats remains.

Self-guided tours, self—guided routes with audio guides and mobile apps, are also gaining popularity. This method allows you to explore the sights at a convenient pace and minimize social contacts. The expert noted that this corresponds to the modern features of information consumption, when travelers prefer to receive data quickly and, if desired, delve into the topic on their own.

Cherepanova stressed that tourists are increasingly focused not only on exploring objects, but also on getting a unique experience. Museums and cultural venues are adapting to these expectations by offering themed itineraries and interactive formats. As an example, she cited guided tours with tastings and special thematic programs in major museums.

The development of pet-friendly directions is becoming a separate trend. Tour operators are developing routes that take into account the possibility of traveling with animals, and hotels and sightseeing sites are expanding the conditions for accommodation with pets.

The expert also noted the growing demands on the professionalism of the guides. According to her, the success of the excursion program largely depends on the personality of the guide, who must have communication skills and be able to work with different audiences.

The cost of standard excursions, according to Cherepanova, varies on average from 800 to 2.5 thousand rubles per person. Individual tours can cost from several tens of thousands to 1.5–2 million rubles, depending on the program and the level of service. The development of an exclusive route takes from three to six months and requires the participation of specialized specialists.

"The demand for individual tours in Russia has been consistently high in recent years and continues to grow," said Cherepanova.

Vladimir Kaganer, Director of the National Union of Travel Industry Professionals, said at the Izvestia News Center on February 19 that Moscow and St. Petersburg were in the highest demand among domestic destinations on February 23 and March 8. According to him, the capital accounts for more than 30% of bookings.
