Starting from March 1, Russia intends to block websites selling tobacco without trial.

In Russia, from March 1, the Federal Alcohol and Tobacco Control Service will be able to block websites with information about the online sale of tobacco products, hookahs and devices for the consumption of nicotine-containing products without legal proceedings. The relevant resolution was published on February 21 on the website of the official publication of legal acts.

According to the bill, the government has approved a relevant agency to make appropriate decisions. The offending sites will be added to a special registry of Internet resources. Similar powers apply to websites with information about the remote sale of alcohol.

The bill was passed at the end of 2025.
