Speed skater Grunevaud wins Olympic gold in mass start
Dutch athlete Mareike Groenewoud won the gold medal in the speed skating mass start at the Olympic Games in Italy on February 21.
She scored 60 points, covering the distance in 8 minutes and 34.70 seconds.
The silver medal went to Ivanie Blondin of Canada (40 points; 8 minutes and 35.09 seconds), and the bronze medal went to Mia Manganello of America (20 points; 8 minutes and 35.39 seconds).
The Winter Olympics will last until February 22.
On February 15, Dutch speed skater Femke Kok became the winner of the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy in speed skating at a distance of 500 m. She covered the distance in 36.49 seconds, setting a new Olympic record. The silver medal was won by another representative of the Netherlands, Jutta Leerdam, who lost 0.66 seconds. The bronze medal was won by Japanese Miho Takagi, her gap was 0.78 seconds.
