The forecaster reported the complete freezing of the Gulf of Finland
The entire Gulf of Finland is frozen and completely covered with ice. This was announced on February 21 by the chief forecaster of St. Petersburg, Alexander Kolesov.
"The persistence of calm and frosty weather in the last few days has allowed the entire Gulf of Finland to freeze, and it is completely covered with ice," the Telegram channel said.
However, the forecaster warned that today the situation has begun to change due to the approaching cyclone. It brought a storm to the west of the Gulf of Finland, which will break and compress the ice sheet.
"Tomorrow's cyclone will bring not only heavy snow, but also increased winds. The weather on February 22nd will be uncomfortable. The temperature will remain at -1... -3 degrees, we expect 5-8 cm of snow," Kolesov added.
On the same day, the Hydrometeorological Center predicted light snow in the morning and warming in Moscow. It was noted that today the air temperature in the capital will range from -1 to -3 degrees in the afternoon. At night, the thermometer will drop to -9.
On February 20, Yandex Weather forecasters told Izvestia that during the holiday weekend, from February 21 to February 23, a gradual increase in temperature and snow are forecast in Moscow.
