It became known about the death of Zoya Dorodova, a member of the Buranovsky Grandmothers collective, at the age of 85. This was announced on February 21 by the head of the Malopurginsky district of Udmurtia, Alexander Deev.

"This is an irreparable loss for our culture, for all of us. I express my deepest condolences to the family, friends and everyone who shares this pain. We grieve with you," Deev said in a message on the VKontakte social network.

Zoya Dorodova was born on April 15, 1940. For a long time she worked as a baker in the Buranov bakery, then as a milkmaid on a collective farm. After her marriage, she moved to the village of Babino, where she worked as a cook and head of the school cafeteria. Later, she returned to her native Buranovo and joined a creative team that became widely known in Russia and abroad.

The cause of death was cancer. The funeral will take place on February 21 at 12:00. The funeral service will be held at the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Buranovo.
