Three days of mourning declared in Amur region after helicopter crash
Three days of mourning have been declared in the Romny district of the Amur region after the deaths of people in the Robinson helicopter crash. This was announced on February 21 by the head of the district Anatoly Opalenko.
On the same day, the press service of the government of the Amur region reported that during the search and rescue operation, the helicopter crash site and the bodies of three victims were found.
"We express our deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Three days of mourning have been declared in the Romny district," Opalenko wrote on his Telegram channel.
He added that all festive events in the area will be canceled.
On February 20, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Amur Region reported the loss of a helicopter en route from Blagoveshchensk towards the village of Amaranka, after which rescuers and task forces were sent to search for it. Later, the authorities clarified that there were three people on board — the pilot and two passengers. A criminal case has been opened into the incident. The Amur Civil Protection Center also reported that the helicopter was used in the interests of logging services.
