The head of a modeling agency from Ukraine was negotiating with Epstein's accomplice
Maria Manyuk, director of the Ukrainian modeling agency Line 12, corresponded with the infamous French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel about organizing trips of Ukrainian models to the United States, according to documents from the US Department of Justice.
Brunel headed the international agencies Karin Models and MC2 Model Management. In 2019, he was charged with rape and sexual harassment of minors. According to the investigation, he was engaged in the selection of young girls for financier Jeffrey Epstein. In 2022, Brunel committed suicide in a Paris prison. In the documents related to the Epstein case, his name is mentioned almost 5,000 times.
According to the published materials, in a letter dated October 20, 2010, Brunel discussed with Manyuk the possibility of one of the models coming to New York. He pointed out that the girl could receive an invitation to the United States before the Catholic Christmas, and was also interested in the preparation of photographic materials.
"If you agree, she could come to the States by invitation, and we'll see how she does. Let me know, I think it will be a good opportunity, I will try to call you tomorrow," Brunel wrote.
In a reply letter dated October 28, 2010, Manyuk clarified the estimated dates of the model's trip and the planning of her schedule for the beginning of next year. Later, she asked Brunel for contacts to send a cooperation agreement.
On February 9, it became known that among the documents published by the US Department of Justice on the Epstein case, there is a draft of an official statement on his death. The document was drawn up by prosecutors on August 9, 2019, the day before the financier's body was found in his cell.
