The Suvorov interdistrict court of the Tula region ruled in the case of the death of a seven-year-old boy in an accident. The person involved in the case was a 17-year-old resident of Kaluga, according to the regional prosecutor's office.

The accident occurred on July 13, 2025 on the Cherepet–Dobroye–Severo-Ageevsky highway. It was established that a 17-year-old teenager got behind the wheel of a pit bike without special equipment and put a seven-year-old boy he knew as a passenger.

On the 12th km of the road, the young man drove into oncoming traffic to overtake and crashed into a Niva. The boy passenger suffered various injuries, from which he died on the spot before the arrival of medics, TSN24 writes.

The court found the teenager guilty under clause "b" of Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules that negligently caused the death of a person committed by a person who does not have the right to drive vehicles") and sentenced him to three years of probation with a similar probation period.

In January, it was reported that the Perm Region had completed the investigation of a criminal case against a teenager who got behind the wheel of his father's motorcycle and killed a pensioner. He is charged with the same article as the 17-year-old resident of Kaluga.
