The Moscow Auction House has announced the key spring auctions, which will be held on March 1, 2026. The catalog includes works from private collections, some of which were previously exhibited at the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum. Among the artists are Isaac Levitan, Ilya Repin, Valentin Serov, Ivan Shishkin, Ivan Aivazovsky, Viktor Vasnetsov, Vasily Polenov, Konstantin Korovin, Pyotr Konchalovsky, Mikhail Nesterov and other masters of the XVIII–XX centuries.

One of the main lots will be Isaac Levitan's landscape "Moonrise. Village" in 1898 with an estimate of 50 million rubles. The work previously belonged to the scientist Vladimir Mitkevich and has been exhibited twice in the State Tretyakov Gallery, as well as in the Russian Museum. The authenticity is confirmed by the artist's autograph and the exhibition numbers on the stretcher.

The portrait section, which includes 25 lots, focuses on Ilya Repin's 1917 Narcissus with a reserve price of 45 million rubles. The painting was acquired from the artist's personal collection in 1920 by lawyer and patron of the arts Vasily Levy, then it was donated to the Stiftelsen Jämtlands läns Konstförening gallery in Switzerland. Valentin Serov's work "Sewing" from 1896 with an estimate of 50 million rubles will also be presented at the auction.

Among the rare works is a drawing by Ivan Aivazovsky "Steamship Frigate Vladimir" from 1852, made during the artist's journey with Emperor Nicholas I. The authenticity is confirmed by the author's signature on the back of the sheet.

Vasily Polenov's painting "The Palestinian Courtyard" from 1881-1882 with an estimate of 12 million rubles is also among the significant lots. In addition to classical Russian art, works of modern art, icons and objects of decorative and applied art will be presented at the auction. There are more affordable works in the catalog, including the legendary Soviet "Hedgehog in the Fog" by Yuri Norstein with a preliminary estimate of 100 thousand rubles, as well as works by Ernst Neizvestny and Oscar Rabin.

The auction will be held on March 1 in online format and in person in Moscow. The pre-auction exhibition is open to visitors until February 28.

The painting by Karl Bryullov "Diana, Endymion and Satyr" was put up for auction on October 3 in Moscow, its value was $ 1 million. It was clarified that the canvas was based on a novel by the Italian poet Giambattista Casti. The work is unique in its museum-level status, as two of the three original versions are kept in the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum.
