Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina met in the Kremlin on Thursday, February 19. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on February 20.
"They saw each other yesterday, they didn't have to talk on the phone, because Elvira Nabiullina took part in our delegation with our Malagasy guests," Peskov said.
According to him, Putin and Nabiullina had the opportunity to talk on the sidelines of the talks between representatives of Russia and Madagascar and discuss a number of official issues.
Yesterday, during talks with his Madagascar counterpart Mikael Randrianirin, Putin called Madagascar one of Russia's important partners in Africa. He also noted that Russia is ready to develop humanitarian ties with Madagascar. The Russian leader added that the two countries have good prospects for strengthening ties, including political ones.
