The television broadcast of the first meeting of the "Peace Council", which took place on Thursday, February 19, in Washington, captured US President Donald Trump with his eyes closed.

In the broadcast footage, the head of state sat with his head down during the speeches of the guests of the event.

"Trump fell asleep at the first meeting of his "Peace Council," wrote journalist Sam Youzeff on the social network X (ex. Twitter) by attaching the appropriate frames.

The episodes lasted no more than 10 seconds. In the first case, at the end of the speech, Trump opened his eyes and began applauding, the second short segment of the broadcast ended with shallow head and body tilts.

The first meeting of the "Peace Council" ended in Washington on February 19. The meeting in the American capital was attended by the leaders of about 20 countries, including Egypt, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and Argentina. Trump opened the meeting and delivered a speech in which he noted, "there has never been anything even close to" the level of prestige that the Peace Council possesses.

On January 22, Trump, taking part in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, signed the charter of the "Peace Council" to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. A day earlier, he also announced that he had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Peace Council. He stressed that the purpose of the organization is to bring together all the influential leaders of the world to jointly discuss global issues.
