In Moscow, a young man set fire to a police car on the orders of fraudsters
A 19-year-old young man was detained in the center of Moscow, who, on the instructions of unknown foreign curators, set fire to a police official car. This was announced on February 20 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
The incident occurred in Krivoarbatsky lane. The attacker, a resident of Kostroma, poured gasoline over the car and set it on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished by police officers.
"The young man explained that he had met a girl on a dating site who had sent him a link to her alleged photos during the conversation. After clicking on the link, he noticed that the transfer of personal data had begun from the phone. It was not possible to cancel this action," Wolf wrote in her Telegram channel.
Then the young man received a call from unknown people who introduced themselves as security forces. They stated that the information had reached the Ukrainian special services. The scammers forced him to sign an agreement to complete seven assignments, including receiving money from pensioners and transferring it to cryptocurrency, writes Wolf.
The last task was to set fire to a car. A criminal case has been opened under articles on terrorist attack and attempted intentional destruction of property.
In addition, a similar case occurred with a 17-year-old resident of the Moscow region. He was detained with a canister of gasoline at a checkpoint in the Khoroshevsky district of Moscow. As Volk noted, the materials were transferred to the investigative authorities.
The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs urged young people to immediately report such situations to the police and not follow the instructions of strangers.
On February 13, Volk reported that a 13-year-old teenager was detained in the Moscow region, who, on the instructions of fraudsters, set fire to gas stations at a gas station. As a result of the incident, two gas stations burned out, there were no casualties. The student said that in December 2025, in one of the messengers, he entered into correspondence with unknown people who deceived him and forced him to commit arson under threats.
