The Danish authorities have detained the Iranian-flagged container ship Nora, which was anchored in Danish waters, due to incorrect registration. This was announced on February 19 by the Maritime Administration of the country.

"The vessel is being detained until the flag state provides the Danish maritime authorities with proof of its registration and full certification," the Danish agency quoted Reuters as saying.

The publication reports that initially the container ship sailed under the flag of the Comoros, but the authorities of this country informed the Danes that this vessel was not listed in their registry.

The agency writes that the Danish authorities are going to conduct their own inspection on board before his release, but now weather conditions do not allow this.

On February 15, the US military seized the tanker Veronica III with Iranian oil. According to the US Department of War, the ship tried to circumvent the quarantine imposed by US President Donald Trump, but was tracked from the Caribbean Sea to the Indian Ocean, where it was eventually intercepted.
