Alexandra Rogova, a culinary college student from St. Petersburg, baked 173 pancakes in an hour, setting a world record.

The record was set on February 16, the day of the girl's 19th birthday, which coincided with the beginning of Shrovetide week. The achievement was officially confirmed on February 19 after an inspection by the Interrecord expert commission.

"To be honest, it turned out to be more difficult than I thought. The commission's requirements turned out to be very strict — only perfectly baked Russian pancakes with a diameter of at least 20 cm were accepted for the test. To do this, I had to adjust my plans and urgently look for suitable frying pans all over St. Petersburg, as I originally planned to use others," the record holder told TASS.

She stressed that she worked completely independently — from kneading the dough to baking. The process was monitored by two outside observers and an expert commission online. In just 60 minutes, Rogova baked 199 pancakes, but due to strict size and color requirements, only 173 with a total weight of 7.5 kg were counted.

It took 24 large frying pans, 4 liters of water, 4 liters of milk, 30 eggs and almost 3 kg of flour to cook. The girl handed over all the "record-breaking" pancakes to the St. Petersburg branch of the Nochlezhka charitable Foundation.

On February 13, Anna Shafer, a nutritionist at the K+31 clinic on Lobachevsky Street, spoke about ways to eat pancakes that are safe for your figure. She called moderation the main rule. The specialist recommended limiting yourself to two or three pancakes per meal. In addition, Shafer advised experimenting with recipes and replacing some of the flour with whole grain or oatmeal. She also recommended paying attention to the overall balance of the day.
