The Yemanzhelinsky City Court of the Chelyabinsk region sentenced four members of an organized criminal group (OCG) who were engaged in kidnappings, robbery and extortion. This was announced on February 19 by the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region.
"The Yemanzhelinsky City Court of the Chelyabinsk region found guilty members of an organized criminal group of committing crimes under paragraphs "a, c, d, z" of Part 2 of Article 126 ("Kidnapping"), part 2 of Article 162 ("Robbery by a group of persons"), paragraph "b" of part 3 of Article 163 ("Extortion on a particularly large scale") of the Criminal Code of Russia," the message says.
According to investigators, the main targets of the gang members were entrepreneurs. The crimes were committed with the use of weapons and violence, and the victims suffered harm to their health of varying severity. It is noted that the members of the group were detained in 2024 during a joint operation of the FSB and the police.
According to the court's decision, two of the defendants in the case were sentenced to 11 years in prison, and two more were sentenced to 10.5 years. They will serve their sentences in high-security penal colonies.
A source from Izvestia reported on December 24 last year that two crime bosses from the Moscow suburb of Balashikha, Ravil Myasoutov and Alexander Yemelyanov, were detained in Moscow for extortion. The bandits tried to extort 25 million rubles from the businessman. Myasoutov is known for having taken over the whole of Balashikha in the 1990s. The other, Alexander Yemelyanov, was previously convicted of murder.
