Thailand has deported a Russian citizen who is accused of embezzling budget funds totaling more than 3.2 billion rubles while fulfilling state contracts under the target program for the development of the military-industrial complex (MIC). This was announced on February 19 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

It is clarified that today at Bangkok airport, employees of the competent Thai authorities handed over to the Russian police a citizen of the Russian Federation, a citizen who was on the international wanted list on charges of committing fraud on an especially large scale.

"According to the investigation, from 2021 to 2024, the attacker provided false information when fulfilling government contracts under the targeted program for the development of the military-industrial complex. Thus, through front companies, he stole budget funds totaling over 3.2 billion rubles," the Interior Ministry Media quoted Volk as saying.
