The license for the operation of power unit No. 2 confirms its safety and readiness for long-term operation. This was announced on February 19 by Evgeniya Yashina, Director of Communications at Zaporizhia NPP.

According to her, the license issued by Rostechnadzor is designed for 10 years and confirms the compliance of the power unit with all established requirements.

"This is a planned and key stage in the station's integration into the Russian nuclear industry. The license is issued for 10 years and confirms that the unit meets all safety requirements and is ready for long-term operation, even in excess of the design period," Yashina told TASS.

Evgenia Yashina reported on February 16 that the situation in the area of the station and the city of Energodar remains tense. According to her, the adjacent territories are periodically shelled and drone flights of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are recorded, which is why the staff continues to work on high alert. However, she noted that the current situation does not have a significant impact on the operation of the station and the daily life of the city.
