- The Federation Council proposed to publish information about fraudulent schemes in the format of rolls
Information about ways to recognize scammers for teenagers should be published in short video format, as this is the most popular type of content consumption among schoolchildren. This was announced on February 19 by Deputy Chairman of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy at the Federation Council, Senator Artem Sheikin.
"I think it's a great idea, because schoolchildren don't watch anything except rils. Therefore, yes, of course, it should be done as much as possible. And they have to discuss it with each other all the time. That is, this topic should be heard all the time," he explained in an interview with TASS.
The senator stressed that children and teenagers have been increasingly becoming targets of intruders lately. So, according to Sheikin, his friend was telling a story about his son, who met a girl on social media. She asked the teenager to drop his geolocation, but it all turned out to be a fraudulent scheme.
"He is immediately contacted by someone from the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine. — Ed.) and says: "You've sent us geolocation, we're going to send drones to your house now, wait." Immediately, an "FSB officer" comes out to him and says: "You handed over geolocation to the Ukrainian special services, people may get hurt because of you, and you and your parents face criminal liability," Sheikin shared.
On February 18, the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Elvira Nabiullina, said that Russian banks suspend about 330 thousand suspicious transactions every month. She noted that criminals regularly adapt to new cyber defense measures. According to her, the phone remains the main channel of fraudulent attacks.
