Iran has issued a notice to military personnel (NOTAM) about plans to launch missiles in areas of the southern region. This was reported on February 18 by the Reuters news agency, with reference to the website of the US Federal Aviation Administration.

"On Thursday from 3:30 GMT (6:30 GMT) to 13:30 GMT (16:30 GMT)," the publication says.

The notice was published amid rising tensions with the United States, which has deployed warships off the coast of Iran. US Vice President J. D. Vance said that Washington is considering the possibility of continuing diplomatic cooperation with Tehran or searching for alternative solutions.

The Axios portal reported on February 18 about the high probability of a military clash between the United States and Iran. It was noted that the Israeli government is aiming at regime change in Tehran and is already preparing for military operations.

The day before, Iran's supreme leader urged not to pre-empt the outcome of negotiations with the United States on issues related to the Iranian nuclear program, noting that this was unwise. He noted that such initiatives are actually aimed at forcing Iran to renounce its terms.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called the talks with the United States in Geneva constructive on February 17. According to him, these developments will be taken into account in the upcoming negotiations, after which the parties "will move on to discussing the essence of a possible agreement."
