Nikitin spoke about the importance of family projects for the Ministry of Transport

Social projects related to family-centricity are of great importance to the Russian Ministry of Transport. Russian Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin told Izvestia on February 18.

"Large families travel by public transport, and, of course, we try to support such initiatives," he told Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky.

The Minister said that the development of regions and key settlements, including increasing transport accessibility, as well as the modernization of urban and inter-municipal communications, remain among the priorities.

Nikitin stressed that the agency's cooperation with ASI makes it possible to translate the initiatives of entrepreneurs and leaders of education and the social sphere into significant government decisions.

"The Agency for Strategic Initiatives is a unique platform where project leaders from all over the country can convey their position to the agency and even to the president," Nikitin said.

The government and the Kremlin discussed how the HSR between Moscow and St. Petersburg is being built, the number of airports in the regions and direct flights abroad are increasing.

More than 20 thousand units of public transport will be updated in Russia according to the programs of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation by 2030. The Ministry announced this on February 17 following a meeting of the Commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation on the "Efficient transport system".
