- The State Duma reacted to Estonia's statement about NATO's nuclear weapons in the country
Russia will only take even more careful aim in the event of the deployment of NATO nuclear weapons on the territory of Estonia. Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense committee, said this on Wednesday, February 18, commenting on reports about the possibility of such a scenario.
Earlier in the day, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that the country is ready to accept the alliance's nuclear weapons if NATO deems it necessary, RT reports.
"No one will ask them. We'll have to stick nuclear weapons in there, they will. So he needs to somehow really weigh his capabilities and importance in the international arena, even as a member of NATO. They are like consumables and that's why they are needed to die first, for example," the deputy said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
The parliamentarian also expressed the opinion that the Balts were alarmed because they began to be forgotten in dialogues in the international arena.
"How will we react? We will aim even more carefully if necessary, because, so to speak, our rocket men will have to show their class, and we will destroy all this ammunition before they are going to use it," Kolesnik concluded.
Earlier, on February 17, Tsakhkna said that the Estonian authorities, together with Ukraine, are preparing the next steps regarding Russian private assets that were frozen after the start of the special military operation (SVO), according to the website. kp.ru .
We are talking about assets frozen in Estonia in the amount of about 37-39 million euros, a significant part of which is related to the transit of Russian fertilizers, IA Regnum reports.
