The Vatican will not take part in the "Peace Council" created on the initiative of US President Donald Trump. This was reported on February 17 by the Reuters news agency, citing Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican's chief diplomat.

Representatives of the residence of the supreme spiritual leadership of the Roman Catholic Church, as noted, called for the resolution of crisis situations at the United Nations meringue.
The agency clarified that Pope Leo XIV, who "is a critic" of the ideas of the current head of the White House, was invited to the new association back in January.
The invitation to join the Peace Council was also rejected on February 11 by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. According to him, Warsaw has doubts about the principles and form of this organization.
On January 23, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, taking part in a press conference with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, said that Germany could not accept the governing structure of the Peace Council, as it did not comply with his country's constitutional considerations. On the same day, Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin pointed out the irritation of the British authorities over Trump's "Peace Council." He clarified that politicians felt the beginning of the formation of a new world order based not on the rules familiar to the West.
