The fighters of the North group of forces told the details of the liberation of Kharkiv

The servicemen of the assault groups of the 80th separate motorized rifle brigade of the North group of forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, who liberated the settlement of Kharkov in the Sumy region, told the details of this operation. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation publishes relevant footage on February 18.

According to the ministry, before the main stage of the assault operations, which were carried out in this village at night, unmanned attack systems (UAVs) equipped with fiber-optic control and mobile mortar crews were actively involved. Russian attack aircraft, using Russian-made secure communications equipment and winter camouflage suits, conducted a covert assault on the positions, which surprised the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Also, the fighters of the Russian Armed Forces were able, as emphasized, to advance deep into the Sumy region.

"Formations of the mechanized, airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and air defense brigades were defeated in the areas of Novye Sich (village. — Ed.), Volfino, Pisarevki, Berezy and Miropole," said Yaroslav Yakimkin, an officer at the group's press center.

The units of the North group of forces, as the soldier added, continue to expand the security zone in the Kharkiv region. The mechanized, motorized infantry and artillery brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as associations of marine corps, air defense and National Guard brigades, were hit there. The operations were carried out near the villages of Veterinary, Khrivovka, Ternovaya, Kazachya Lopan, Kutuzovka and Sredny Burluk.

"The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 210 military personnel, 23 vehicles, two artillery pieces, and an electronic warfare station (EW. — Ed.), an ammunition depot and three material depots," Yakimkin said.

The Defense Ministry clarified that Russian troops continue to advance daily, pushing the enemy away from the state border to ensure the safety of civilians. Their main goal is to prevent the Ukrainian military from firing and attacking the territories of the border regions with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

On the same day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the liberation of Kharkov by representatives of the North group of forces.
