During the qualification of the women's team sprint at the Olympic Games in Italy on February 18, a dog ran onto the ski slope.

The incident happened at the finish line, when Croatian skier Tena Hadjic was completing the race. The pet did not show aggression towards the athletes, but on the contrary, demonstrated friendliness, having managed to sniff the representative of Argentina, Nayara Diaz Gonzalez, right at the finish line.

The appearance of the animal did not affect the qualification results. The organizers have not yet been able to establish where the dog came from and how it got into the protected area.

The official "photo finish" of the dog was presented on the broadcast, recording its crossing of the finish line. Soon, the stadium staff was able to summon the animal to them and gently lead it to a safe area.

Earlier in the day, it became known that Adelia Petrosyan took fifth place after the short program in figure skating at the Olympic Games (OI-2026). The athlete performed in a neutral status, without national symbols. Japanese figure skater Ami Nakai became the leader among women in the short program.
