Slovak oil Refinery Slovnaft will suspend exports, including diesel fuel for Ukraine, and focus on the domestic market. This was announced by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on February 17.

"Slovnaft is stopping the export of diesel fuel to Ukraine and any other exports, and everything that will be processed in Slovakia will be destined for the Slovak market," Fico said at a press conference broadcast by the Slovak TASR news agency.

He also stated that Slovakia may stop supplying electricity to Ukraine due to the suspension of oil supplies via the Druzhba oil pipeline. According to him, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky refuses to cooperate on this issue.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced on February 15 that Hungary and Slovakia had asked Croatia to allow oil transit via the Adriatic Pipeline from Russia. Szijjarto noted that the opportunity to purchase oil from Russia via the Druzhba pipeline for Hungary and Slovakia is an exception to the sanctions.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on February 17 that the issue of a possible increase in oil supplies to Hungary through Croatia was being worked out at the level of relevant companies, and Ukraine's position complicated the situation in this area.
