The Interior Ministry announced the initiation of over 830 cases of droppery since July 2025.

Over the period from July 1, 2025 to February 1, 2026, more than 830 criminal cases of droppery (complicity in fraudulent money laundering schemes) were initiated, Deputy Interior Minister Andrei Khrapov announced on Wednesday, February 18.

"From July last year to February 1 of this year, 832 criminal cases were initiated. <...> 174 droppers and 69 drop organizers were brought to criminal responsibility," TASS quoted him as saying at the Cybersecurity in Finance forum.

The Deputy Head of the Russian Interior Ministry clarified that of the number of cases he mentioned, 180 are already under consideration in the courts.
