Sobyanin announced free parking in Moscow on February 23

In Moscow, on Defender of the Fatherland Day, free parking will be available on all streets. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, announced this on February 18 in his channel in the MAX messenger.

Parking will be free on February 23, including in parking lots with rates of 380, 450 and 600 rubles per hour and in dynamic fare zones. At the same time, parking lots with a barrier will continue to operate as usual, the mayor noted.

According to estimates by the Moscow Department of Transport, in total in 2026 it will be possible to park for free for 71 days in Moscow. This number includes 50 Sundays — free parking, except on the streets with fares of 380, 450 and 600 rubles per hour and a dynamic tariff. As well as 21 public holidays: January 1-10, February 23, March 8-9, May 1-2, 9 and 11, June 12-13, November 4, December 31 — free everywhere.

Earlier, on January 2, it was reported that parking rates had changed on some streets of the capital. Parking has become cheaper at 12 sites, including Mikhail Yakushin and Igor Chislenko streets, 2nd, 3rd and 5th passages of Maryina Grove. On the vast majority of sites with paid parking (89% of streets), the tariffs remained the same. And in areas with a workload exceeding 80-90%, they have been adjusted.
