On Thursday, February 19, Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan competed in the free skate at the Olympic Games in Italy. The 2026 Olympics marked the 18-year-old Petrosyan's debut. The final result allowed her to gain a foothold among the strongest figure skaters in the world.

Following the results of two performances, the athlete took the sixth place and scored 214.53 points from the judges. The winner of the 2026 Olympic Games among women in figure skating was American Alice Liu, who received 226.79 points, Japanese figure skater Kaori Sakamoto won the silver medal with 224.90 points, and her compatriot Ami Nakai won the bronze medal with 219.16 points.

In the short program on February 17, Petrosyan took fifth place, scoring 72.89 points. According to the results of the rental, the Russian gained a foothold in the group of leaders of the tournament, competing with such figure skaters as Anastasia Gubanova, Alice Liu and Kaori Sakamoto.

Earlier in the men's tournament, Russian Peter Gumennik took sixth place, and Kazakh figure skater Mikhail Shaidorov won gold.

Adelia Petrosyan became the champion of Russia three times — in 2024, 2025 and 2026. She also won the Russian Grand Prix final three times - in 2023, 2024 and 2025, won the Russian Jumping Championship in 2025 and won the Olympic qualification tournament of the same year.
