The first day of negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict involving Russia, the United States and Ukraine ended in Geneva. This was announced on February 17 by a RIA Novosti source

On the same day, a source from Izvestia told about the start of negotiations in Geneva.

It was clarified that in addition to Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, Igor Kostyukov, Head of the Main Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Kirill Dmitriev, Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister, and other officials would join the meeting.

The trilateral meeting will last for two days, from 17 to 18 February. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that one should not expect news from the negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukrainian conflict in Geneva on the first day. He also pointed out that the negotiations were closed to the media. According to Izvestia correspondent Igor Baldin, the trilateral meeting will be held at the Intercontinental Geneva Hotel.
