Construction of the Luganskaya station on the Biryulevskaya metro line has begun in Moscow. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in the Max messenger on Monday, February 16.

According to him, work on the new line is underway at several sites at once: at the stations "ZIL", "Island of Dreams" and "Klenovy Boulevard", soil development continues, the transfer of engineering networks and monolithic work has begun. Enclosing structures of a 552-meter-long excavation are currently being erected at Luganskaya, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

The station will appear on the Kuryanovo—Biryulyovo section, which is scheduled to be commissioned in 2029. The mayor noted that during the construction, the traffic pattern along Kavkazsky Boulevard will be changed, taking into account traffic characteristics. It is expected that the new station will relieve Kantemirovskaya and Tsaritsyno, improve transport accessibility for about 45,000 residents and 14,000 workers in the area, writes NSN. In general, the Biryulevskaya line with a length of more than 22 km will include 10 stations and will allow residents of seven districts to reduce travel time to the center by about 30 minutes, Moscow 24 notes.

On February 14, it became known that 34 metro stations are planned to be built by the end of 2032 in Moscow. According to the official, over 260 km of lines, 127 stations, and 14 electric depots have been built and reconstructed in the metro and the MCC over 15 years. kp.ru .
