KamAZ launches new bridge production in Tatarstan
KamAZ has launched the production of bridges for K3 and K5 generation trucks in Naberezhnye Chelny. This is stated in the message of the Industrial Development Fund (EDF), which was received by Izvestia on February 16.
FRP provided KAMAZ with a preferential loan in the amount of 5 billion rubles at a rate of 1% per annum for the creation of production. As Denis Manturov, First Deputy head of the Government of the Russian Federation, noted, the development of the production of bridges for the new generation of the K5 truck family makes it possible to replace the import of these complex units. All of their key components are also of Russian origin, he pointed out.
The FRP said that the flagship bridges of the new generation for K5 trucks have a number of advantages over competitors. They are characterized by lower weight and compactness, as well as increased resource.
"Due to the unique technology of obtaining a solid-cast axle housing, including trunnions, brake calipers and suspension brackets, the load capacity has been increased. The results of bench tests confirm the durability of the crankcases for more than 6 million cycles, which exceeds the classic die-welded crankcase by six times. Due to the use of crankcase walls of different thicknesses, it was possible to reduce the weight of the bridge," the representatives of the foundation noted.
Earlier, on February 11, Anton Alikhanov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, said that Russia was still forced to abandon the project to develop a single modular platform for cars due to budget constraints. The minister called the project of a single modular platform capital intensive.
