A local resident was convicted in Dagestan for the illegal manufacture of weapons.

In Dagestan, the activities of a resident of Kizilyurt involved in the illegal manufacture and storage of firearms were suppressed. This was reported on February 16 by the FSB of Russia in the region.

"It has been established that Abakarov A.R., a resident of Kizilyurt, upgraded an MP-371 signal pistol for firing live ammunition. This pistol, along with ammunition of various calibers, was found in his home during a search on May 22, 2024," the report says.

The Kizilyurt city Court found the man guilty under Part 1 of Article 223 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal manufacture of weapons") and Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal storage of ammunition"). He was sentenced to 5.5 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony and a fine of 100,000 rubles.

On the same day, the FSB's public relations center reported that in two months the illegal activities of 86 residents from 37 regions of Russia involved in arms trafficking had been suppressed. Special operations took place in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sevastopol, in the Luhansk People's Republic, as well as in the republics of Altai, Karelia, Crimea, Mordovia, Sakha (Yakutia), North Ossetia -Alania, Tuva and Khakassia, in Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Primorsky and Stavropol territories and in 23 other regions of the country.
