The NPP reported a tense situation in the area of Energodar
The situation in the area of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and the city of Energodar remains tense. This was announced on February 16 by Evgenia Yashina, Director of Communications at ZAES.
"As for the general situation in the city and the station area, unfortunately, it remains tense," she told TASS.
According to her, the territories adjacent to the city and the station are periodically shelled, and drone flights of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are also recorded. She noted that such incidents maintain a high-alert mode for personnel and services.
At the same time, Yashina stressed that at the moment what is happening does not have a significant impact on the operation of the plant and the daily life of the Energy Supplier.
On February 10, the press service of the NPP reported that as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the industrial zone of Energodar, the city's and station's life support infrastructure was damaged. In addition, the main pipeline of the heating main was damaged, which is why the heat supply to residential buildings and social facilities of the Energy Center was temporarily suspended.
