The State Duma proposed to introduce automatic accrual of tax deductions

Boris Chernyshov, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma (LDPR), sent a letter to Anton Siluanov, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, proposing to introduce a mechanism for automatically calculating tax deductions in the most popular categories. This is evidenced by the relevant document, which was reviewed by TASS on February 16.

The appeal notes that the right to a tax deduction remains one of the most effective measures to support citizens. At the same time, the current application procedure involves the collection of paper documents, filling out a 3-personal income tax declaration and submitting it on time.

"For pensioners and people with limited mobility, these steps become an insurmountable barrier, as a result of which significant funds required by law simply do not reach people," Chernyshov said.

On February 7, expert Anastasia Morgunova named ways for Izvestia to return part of the personal income tax in 2026. Officially employed citizens and entrepreneurs have the right to tax deductions based on the general taxation system. Morgunova stressed that unofficial income actually deprives a person of the opportunity to repay tax, since it reduces the amount of personal income tax paid.
