The special format of the final certification will be extended in three border regions.

The special format of the state final certification will be extended in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions. This was announced on February 16 by the Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov.

"Unfortunately, the situation remains unsettled in the border regions today. Guided by the principle of absolute priority for the safety of children and teachers, we have decided to extend the special format of the state final certification in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions in 2026," he told reporters.

According to Kravtsov, graduates will be given a choice: to take the main state exam or the unified state exam, or to receive a certificate based on the results of the intermediate certification.
