Italian biathlete Lisa Vittozzi won the pursuit race at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy on February 15.
The athlete, who started fifth, covered the 10 km distance in 30 minutes and 11.8 seconds, having accurately worked on all four firing lines without a single miss. The second place was taken by the winner of the sprint at these Games, Maren Kirkade, who lost 28.8 seconds and made three mistakes. The bronze medal was won by Suvi Minkkinen of Finland with a lag of 34.3 seconds and zero misses.
For Vittozzi, this is the first Olympic gold and the first personal Olympic medal. Previously, she became the silver medalist at the home Olympics, and also won a bronze medal in the mixed relay at the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang. In addition, she has won two World Championships in 2023 and 2024.
On February 15, Dutch speed skater Femke Kok became the winner of the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy in speed skating at a distance of 500 m.
