Analysts named the most popular toppings for pancakes among Russians
The most popular toppings for pancakes among Russians are meat. ATOL analysts told Izvestia about this after conducting a study of anonymized sales data.
The share of purchases of pancakes with this filling is 26% each. Cottage cheese is in second place. Pancakes with this filling were chosen in 24% of cases. Ham and cheese filling is also among the leaders — every sixth purchase (17%) falls on a traditional Maslenitsa dish with this filling. The share of sales of pancakes with condensed milk is 10%, with chicken — 7%, liver — 4%, potatoes and mushrooms — 3%, and with cherries, apples and cinnamon, chocolate — 2% each. Other types of fillings account for a total of 3% of sales.
According to ATOL analysts, the basic set of products for making pancakes with milk has increased in price by 2%. In January-February 2026, the average purchase price of the kit was 656 rubles. But a set for making pancakes on kefir will cost Russians an average of 628 rubles, which is 3% more expensive than in 2025. The average receipt for kefir increased by 15% to 102 rubles, for flour — by 13% (103 rubles), for sugar — by 9% (75 rubles).
On average, milk was purchased 7% more expensive — 130 rubles, and the receipt for the purchase of sunflower oil increased by 3% to 201 rubles per bottle. At the same time, eggs and salt became cheaper by 15% (95 rubles) and 4% (52 rubles), respectively. The study was conducted based on the analysis of anonymized sales data for 11.3 million receipts for 2024-25 and January-February 2026.
On February 13, Anna Shafer, a nutritionist at the K+31 clinic on Lobachevsky Street, spoke about ways to eat pancakes that are safe for your figure. She called moderation the main rule. The specialist recommended limiting yourself to two or three pancakes at a time. In addition, Shafer advised experimenting with recipes and replacing some of the flour with whole grain or oatmeal. She also recommended paying attention to the overall balance of the day.
