The Canadian national team won a crushing victory over the French team in the final match of the group stage of the 2026 Olympic Hockey tournament in Italy. The meeting in Group A ended with a score of 10:2.

The winners included Tom Wilson (9th minute), Devon Taves (10th), Mark Stone (20th), Cale Makar (33rd), Maclean Celebrini (38th, 52nd), Sidney Crosby (38th), Connor McDavid (41st), Bo Horvath (46th) and Brandon Hagel (51). In turn, the French team was able to respond with goals from Florent Douai (9) and Sasha Trey (42).

At the very end of the third period, Canadian Wilson and Frenchman Pierre Crinon were sent off for fighting.

McDavid set a new record among Canadians for the number of points scored at an Olympic tournament, scoring 9 points, and Sidney Crosby (15 points) became the Olympic record holder with the participation of National Hockey League (NHL) players in total points.

The Canadians, who became nine-time Olympic champions, had previously secured first place in Group A. They finished the group stage with 9 points and a goal difference of 20:3. The French, who suffered their third defeat and scored no points, took fourth place, losing to the Swiss (5 points) and the Czechs (4).

On February 14, the Swedish national team defeated the Slovak team with a score of 5:3 in the third round match of the group stage of the Olympic hockey tournament. Forwards Yoel Eriksson Ek, Adrian Kempe, and Lucas Raymond scored goals for the winners. Forward Elias Pettersson also scored a double.
