French biathlete Julie Simon withdrew from the pursuit race at the Olympic Games in Italy due to indisposition after the sprint. This was reported on February 15 by the newspaper La Provence.
At the same time, the athlete took 34th place in the sprint. According to the coach of the French women's national shooting team, Jean‑Paul Jakin, Simon is recovering to participate in the mass start, which is scheduled for February 21.
The coach added that the athlete's performance in the pursuit race was meaningless, as she lagged behind the other participants by several minutes.
On February 11, Simon became the Olympic champion in the individual race at the 2026 Games. She covered a distance of 15 km in 41 minutes and 15.6 seconds, making one miss on four firing ranges.
