Fourcade was awarded the gold medal taken from biathlete Ustyugov at the Olympics
On February 15, the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo hosted an award ceremony for biathletes, in whose favor medals from the 2010 and 2014 Olympics were redistributed after the disqualification of Russian biathlete Evgeny Ustyugov.
Frenchman Martin Fourcade won the gold medal in the mass start of the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. Slovakia's Pavol Hurait won silver, and Austria's Christoph Zumann won bronze.
For the relay race at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, gold was awarded to the German national team, silver to the Austrians, and bronze to the Norwegian athletes.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected Ustyugov's appeal in 2024, upholding the deprivation of his gold and bronze medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The athlete was disqualified for four years for violating anti-doping rules. All his results from 2010 to 2014, including at the Olympic Games, were annulled.
