New Delhi adheres to its strategic autonomy and its decisions may not satisfy the opinion of other countries. This was stated on February 14 by Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar, answering a question about the country's refusal from Russian oil after concluding a trade agreement with the United States.

"India will continue to make its own decisions, and these decisions will not always be to your liking. We understand that. You will have to accept this," Jaishankar said at the Munich Conference.
