It became known about a new fraudulent scheme with fake VPN applications

By sending links, scammers began distributing fake VPN applications that give them access to the user's device and sending applications for microloans. This is evidenced by the data of the Russian Interior Ministry, which was reviewed by TASS on February 15.

The attackers distribute links to download the VPN application, and when a potential victim clicks on it, the service starts downloading.

After that, the system redirects the user to the phone settings to confirm the installation. By agreeing to the installation, fraudsters gain access to the device and the information it contains.
