The Irish economist called the EU leaders pathetic after Rubio's refusal to meet
The refusal of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to meet with European leaders to discuss the Ukrainian issue on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference showed the bleak situation in Europe. This opinion was expressed on February 14 by Irish economist Philip Pilkington.
"The Europeans are just sitting in their rooms and talking to each other about a topic they can't influence in any way. It's very sad," he wrote on the social network X.
Pilkington added that European politicians look pathetic, but they don't realize it.
The Financial Times newspaper reported on February 13 that Rubio canceled a meeting on Ukraine with the leaders of the European Union (EU) at a security conference in Munich. According to the newspaper, the cancellation was due to the Secretary of State's overly busy schedule.
