On February 14, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski expressed doubt about the right of Washington, which refused to provide military support to Kiev, to play a leading role in the negotiation process to resolve the conflict.

"It was natural that the United States was leading in these negotiations, when the United States provided the main military assistance, <...> I would like our American guests especially to know <...> now we are paying for this conflict," The Guardian quoted him as saying at the Munich Security Conference.

Sikorsky noted that the costs of the American side to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are close to zero, and there are no prospects for providing new aid packages to Kiev. Based on this, he stressed that the European side, which is investing in the conflict, "deserves" a place at the negotiating table, since their outcome will "affect" it.
