A teenager died when snow fell from the roof of a hockey court in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug

In Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug), a teenager died as a result of snow falling from the roof of a hockey court. This was reported on February 14 by the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (SU IC) for the region.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence resulting in the death of a person by negligence)," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that the tragedy occurred in the city of Lyantor, Surgut district. A mass of snow descended from the roof of an indoor hockey court onto a group of children nearby. The teenager, born in 2013, died from his injuries. One minor was hospitalized.

According to the Izvestia source, three teenagers are receiving outpatient medical care.

Earlier that day, in the Tambov region, a man died as a result of the collapse of a hospital canopy due to a large accumulation of snow. A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence").
