A "yellow" weather danger level has been declared in Moscow and the region due to heavy snowfall expected on Monday, April 16. This was announced on Saturday afternoon, February 14, by the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation.

"On Monday afternoon, February 16, snow is expected in the capital and in the region, heavy in places, a blizzard in some areas, and wind gusts of up to 15 m/s," the TASS Hydrometeorological Center reports.

It is specified that during the designated period, ice will be recorded on the roads, which can lead to skidding. The warning will be valid from 9:00 to 21:00.

Mikhail Leus, a specialist at the Phobos weather center, warned Muscovites on the same day about a sharp cold snap expected on Sunday night, February 15. According to him, a cold atmospheric front will bring with it a decrease in temperature to -10 degrees — such marks may be indicated by thermometers closer to morning. In addition, during the day, as the expert warned, heavy ice will form on the city's roads.
