The Norwegian government notified the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States and authorized several visits by representatives of the American agency to the country after experiments with specially created equipment for studying the "Havana syndrome" were conducted in the strictest secrecy by a Norwegian scientist in 2024. This was reported on February 14 by The Washington Post (WP), citing sources.

"The Norwegian government informed the CIA of the results, which led to at least two visits by representatives of the Pentagon and the White House to Norway in 2024," the publication says.

It is specified that the "Havana syndrome" is a set of neurological symptoms first recorded in November 2016 in employees of the embassies of the United States and Canada in Havana, and subsequently in hundreds of American diplomats, military and intelligence officers around the world. Key symptoms include dizziness, nausea, headaches, and hearing problems.

According to the newspaper, the consequences faced by the Norwegian researcher were different from those faced by victims of the "Havana syndrome."

The article notes that the "pulsed energy device", which was built by a Norwegian scientist, and the subsequent experiment demonstrated that microwaves can affect human biology and are probably "being developed by the opponents of the United States."

"I think there's compelling evidence that we should be concerned about the possibility of creating targeted weapons that could pose a danger to people," said a retired army surgeon and Air Force general. USA Paul Friedrichs, who oversaw biological threats at the White House National Security Council under former US President Joe Biden.

Sasha Ingber, a former employee of the State Department and NPR radio station, reported on February 12 that the US army has weapons that allegedly cause "Havana syndrome," which manifests itself in dizziness, nausea, headaches and hearing problems. According to the journalist, the weapon was received several months ago, and the United States is testing it in order to understand how it works.
