Alexander Enbert, the silver medalist of the 2018 Olympic Games in the team tournament, praised the performance of Russian figure skater Pyotr Gumennik in the free skate at the Olympic Games in Italy on February 14.

"Peter has fulfilled his program perfectly. He did his best and reached the peak of his form for the Olympic Games. Congratulations to him and the whole team on such a powerful performance. Bravo!" — Sport-Express quotes him as saying.

He noted that the scores received by Humennik were restrained, especially for difficult elements such as the quadruple jumps. Enbert added that this is the first international tournament in a long time, and a high score is not always possible, given the specifics of figure skating and the importance of the ranking.

In addition, he clarified that Humennik deserves to be on the podium, despite the restrained assessment. According to Enbert, for higher scores, Russians need time to strengthen their rating positions.

On February 13, at the Olympic Games in Italy, Humennik performed a clean free skate and scored 184.49 points. He performed at number 13. The athlete managed to perform flip, lutz, Rittberger and double Salchow — in a cascade with a triple toe loop and in combination with two double axels. In addition, the athlete was able to perform an axel in 3.5 turns.
