Russian actor Mikhail Yefremov took to the stage for the first time after his release from prison. The February 13 footage is published by Izvestia.
The actor played in the pre-premiere screening of the play "Without Witnesses" on the stage of the Workshop 12 theater.
The first viewers of the production "for moms and dads" were relatives and friends of the artists, as well as representatives of the press.
Izvestia reported on January 14 that Yefremov had returned to work at the theater after serving more than four years in a penal colony. The actor himself turned to Nikita Mikhalkov, the director of Workshop 12, with a request to take him to the play "Without Witnesses", in which he will play the main role. According to the production's artist, Yuri Cooper, Yefremov is capable of playing any role, and rehearsals with the troupe were conducted even by phone.
On March 25 and 26, Yefremov will play the main role in the psychological drama "Without Witnesses" created by Nikita Mikhalkov and Alexander Adabashyan. His partner will be People's Artist of Russia Anna Mikhalkova.
