- More than 300 thousand electric meters were replaced free of charge in residential buildings in Moscow during the year
In 2025, 340 thousand electric meters were replaced free of charge in residential buildings in Moscow. This was announced on Friday, February 13, by Deputy Mayor for Housing and Communal Services and Landscaping Peter Biryukov.
According to him, the centralized replacement program continues, and the work is carried out free of charge, since from July 1, 2020, responsibility for electricity metering in apartment buildings has passed to Mosenergosbyt, the Moscow City News agency reports.
Biryukov explained that experts dismantle devices that are out of order or have completed an inter-verification period. The new multi-tariff meters are designed for 30 years of service, writes Moscow 24.
In addition, they are equipped with equipment for subsequent connection to an intelligent accounting system. As a result, residents will not have to transmit readings — the data will be sent automatically. Citizens are warned in advance about the dates of the work through announcements in the entrances and near the houses.
